An unincorporated association of individuals informally working together for the benefit of our hobby – railway modelling in 3mm to 1 foot scale.

The type of personal information we collect from you.

When you join the Society you consent to allow us to collect and process the following information which you supply:
• Full name and address
• Email address
• Telephone number – where supplied
• Details of orders placed on the Society Shops.

NB. Payment details for subscriptions and shop purchases are held by the card payment service provider, not the Society.

Who we share your data with

We do not share your data with anyone outside of the 3mm Society unless they supply us a service which requires that data.  ie.  The mailing company which sends you newsletters and the Journal.

For users that register on our website, we store the personal information they provide in their user profile. This data is only used to administer access to the website and their membership of the 3mm Society. All users can see, edit, or delete their personal information at any time (except they cannot change their username). Website administrators can also see and edit that information.

 What rights you have over your data

You have the right to ask us for copies of all your personal information and to ask us to rectify personal information you think is inaccurate. You also have the right to ask us to complete information you think is incomplete.

In certain circumstances you have the right to ask us to erase your personal information and you have the right to right to object to or ask us to restrict the processing of your personal information.

This does not include any data we are obliged to keep for administrative, legal, or security purposes.

We will respond within 1 month. Please contact the Society Secretary if you wish to complain about the handling of your data or to take action under data protection legislation. If you are not satisfied with the outcome you can complain to the Information commissioners office – ICO website: https://www.ico.org.uk.

Cookies

If you visit our login page, we will set a temporary cookie to determine if your browser accepts cookies. This cookie contains no personal data and is discarded when you close your browser.

When you log in, we will also set up several cookies to save your login information and your screen display choices. Login cookies last for two days, and screen options cookies last for a year. If you select “Remember Me”, your login will persist.  If you log out of your account, the login cookies will be removed. You will not be reminded repeatedly about cookies.

Google analytics cookies are used to provide the Society with reports on user activity, such as the number of visitors, pages visited, and engagement metrics.
