Generally prototype wheel diameters for wagon wheels are 3′ (or thereabouts), coaches are 3′ 6″ (except BR B4 bogie and Most DMUs which are 3′). A few special wagons such as Lowmacs and Rectanks need 2′ 8″. Some passenger rated wagons have 3′ 6″ (sometimes spoked), and SR CCT/PLVs had 3′ when introduced but were mostly replaced later with 3′ 6″. The LMS used 3′ 6″ on Milk tanks but other companies used 3′.
