Description
Methfix Pre‑Grouping wagon lettering in white
The top band is all LNWR wagon lettering in various sizes, including “Fruit Van”, “Insulated Van”, “Loco”, “ED”, etc. and lots of numbers and “Tare” and “Return to” inscriptions.
The middle band contains MR, L&Y, LT&SR, NSR, SMJ, NLR, S&DJR, and a selection of Cumbrian lines: FR, M&CR and C&WR. There is a lot of supplementary lettering, and illiteracy symbols like the NSR knot.
The bottom band is all Scottish wagon lettering, for the 5 companies -the CR, HR, G&SWR, NBR, and GNoSR – together with specialist branding and lots of numbers.
All very useful for a layout depicting the period up to 1930 (many wagons didn’t get repainted until well into the Grouping era).
