Sabins End is a small country terminus station somewhere in England. The station has a main platform and a bay which gives access to the mill siding. The small goods yard is opposite the platform.

The layout is built to TT gauge which is 3mm – 1’ scale running on 12mm gauge track. The first British TT Gauge models arrived in 1957 when Tri-ang introduced their range to complement their existing OO scale models. The scale became very popular in the 1960’s as other manufacturers started supplying locomotive and rolling stock kits, trackwork, buildings etc. Tri-ang TT stopped production in 1967 and 3mm modellers are now supported by the 3mm Society and specialist suppliers.

The layout is built in modular form on two baseboards 4′ x 18′. Track work is by GEM, locomotives are white metal kits running on Tri-ang chassis, rolling stock is modified Tri-ang ready to run, and kits by Peco, GEM, Essenal, K’s, Kitmaster, BEC and the 3mm Society. Buildings are mostly kits by Buildeezi, the mill is a Scalescenes.com warehouse re-scaled to 3mm. Platform edging and road bridge are modified Peco N gauge.
