Note:- Many, but not all, tender locos have a raised lip on the leading edge called a Capuchon, colloquially known as a wind cutter, or a wind jabber, it serves no real purpose on a tank engine, but shared boiler types and common spares sometimes swapped Capuchon chimneys onto tanks, and this plus corrosion sometimes removed it from those tender locos that were supposed to have one. Some castings have a lip tall enough to file off, or just the back half off to leave a Capuchon.
